The team:
You will be joining our core web engineering team, which is responsible for everything you see on ledger.com. They own the end-to-end customer experience and work on various systems on the e-commerce platform.
To support our continued growth, we’re hiring an Engineering Manager to join the E commerce business unit. You’ll work directly with the Engineering Director and lead a high-performing team to deliver core features across our top web sites. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll shape the product experience millions of users rely on every day.
What you’ll be doing:
Management
Lead your team and meet regularly with your direct reports to provide frequent feedback on their work
Drive recruitments, performance assessments, trainings and career development for your team
Help individuals set goals and improve their practices, to ensure employee growth and meet retention goals
Tech
Drive projects from end-to-end, implementing best-in-class engineering practices
Participate in the sprint delivery, monitor Tech' metrics, and be accountable for the quality of deliverables
Consistently come up with innovative solutions integrating and encourage innovative thinking from others
Delivery
Collaborate closely with Delivery Managers, Product Owners and Designers to assess feasibility, provide technical recommendations, and help estimate and plan
Delegate effectively, ensuring tasks are completed as specified without micromanaging
Communicate clearly on expectations and ensure practices are followed to meet Ledger’s quality bar
Leadership & Communication
Embrace a positive “can do” attitude, and be a model for others
Be proactive in your communication and be a well-identified link with other teams
Track progress/risks/issues and communicate them to the appropriate stakeholders

Feature enablement over architecture - Getting things done by creatively integrating third parties, not reinventing wheels

Our tech:
Core: Vercel, Next.js (Shop), Shopify (E-commerce backend), Contentful (CMS)
Secondary: AWS, Kubernetes, Postgres
What we’re looking for:
5+ years contributing to enterprise-level codebases
Excited by outcomes rather than tech novelty; able to ship reliable value with simple tech
Strong code quality focus: writing performant, secure, maintainable code using practices like DDD, Clean Code, TDD, and pairing; championing best practices through reviews
Teaching and mentoring mindset – constantly levelling up the team
Great communication skills – translating technical concepts for non-technical people and presenting at demos
Data-driven decision making
Experience with agile delivery, CI/CD, and feature planning/forecasting
