The team:

As a key contributor to Ledger's mission, we're seeking a Senior Commercial Counsel to join our Commercial Legal Team. This is a strategic role where you'll report directly to the Senior Legal Director, joining a dynamic team of talented lawyers. You'll operate at the forefront of legal and commercial innovation, navigating the rapidly evolving blockchain and crypto industry where you'll help write the rules of tomorrow.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Senior Commercial Counsel, you won't just advise; you'll be a strategic legal architect at the forefront of digital asset innovation. You'll dive deep into complex, often uncharted, legal territory, directly impacting how we secure digital ownership for millions worldwide.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Playing a pivotal role in advising diverse, critical business functions, including Marketing, Ledger Live, Product, Infrastructure, and Security Operations.

  • Leading the drafting and negotiation of critical commercial agreements with partners, key customers, and essential providers, building the commercial backbone of our operations.

  • Providing expert counsel on a broad spectrum of commercial law, including marketing, advertising, sales, product, consumer protection and IP licensing. You'll tackle novel legal questions where established precedents are still being written.

  • Acting as a key legal partner in the development of new go-to-market strategies, products, and services, ensuring legal soundness while fostering innovation and rapid scaling.

  • Optimizing legal operations by enhancing our legal processes: improving contract templates, streamlining documentation flows, and enhancing reporting and archiving systems. Your work will directly contribute to greater efficiency and compliance across the organization.

  • Working seamlessly across the legal team and with crucial stakeholders in Sales, Finance, Marketing, Operations and Product, providing integrated, actionable legal advice that fuels our collective success.

  • Contributing directly to the development of internal tools, guidelines, and policies, helping to build the legal infrastructure for a rapidly evolving global leader.

This role offers unparalleled exposure to cutting-edge legal and commercial topics in the blockchain and crypto industry. As part of a lean, agile scale-up, you'll also have the unique opportunity to flex your expertise across various legal areas, stepping in wherever your skills are most needed to support our dynamic mission.

What we’re looking for:We're looking for a highly accomplished and adaptable commercial lawyer ready to thrive in a fast-paced, pioneering environment.

  • You bring at least 6-8 years of robust commercial legal experience, gained either in-house at a technology-driven company or within a top-tier law firm, with a proven track record across a diverse range of commercial matters.

  • Your written and verbal communication, drafting, and presentation skills in English are exemplary. You can articulate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely to diverse international teams and stakeholders.

  • You possess a blend of pragmatism and strategic thinking, capable of navigating ambiguity and providing clear, actionable legal advice in evolving scenarios.

  • You are proactive, self-motivated, and resilient, consistently taking initiative and effectively prioritizing multiple, high-impact matters in a dynamic environment.

  • You excel at building and nurturing strong, trusting relationships across all levels of an organization, fostering collaboration and influencing outcomes effectively.

  • You are detail-oriented with a sharp analytical mind, capable of quickly distilling complex legal issues into simple, understandable insights.

  • You are flexible, personable, and eager to embrace change, thriving in an innovative, rapidly scaling environment where new challenges are the norm.

  • You possess a foundational understanding of blockchain technology and Web3, or demonstrate a strong aptitude and eagerness for learning new technologies.
